A Memory
Something I find interesting about memory is that we can recall how something felt far better than how it looked. I remember being in my grandparents garden in Canada and seeing butterflies glide over flowers in the summer sun. This memory is very hazy, in my mind it is mostly saturated light, but my wonder at the butterflies’ beauty is still crystal clear.

In many of my paintings I use a reference image for inspiration, then modify, adding flora and fauna to create the emotions I hope to convey.
