‘At some point many of us will find ourselves in the woods. Somehow I thought I would be the exception, until being hit with autoimmune attacks and developing chronic fatigue.

It was terrifying how quickly the exhaustion bloomed darkly around me.

I could no longer go to school, see my friends, or look after myself. I didn’t know it was possible to be that tired while still conscious.

Two years of staring at the ceiling. 

I spent a lot of time thinking about all the things that people are able to live through. Pain and loss that I can’t even imagine.  

I am in awe of humanity’s ability to survive, sometimes for years at a time, without seeing the sky. To somehow make it out of the woods.’
